Never Say Never

So, I can remember vowing to never start a blog. I also said I would quit drinking so much caffeine this year... and I’m on my 3rd diet coke - and I had a cup of coffee this morning okay, really 2 cups of coffee. oops. It appears that I have no will power. Oh well, we all fall into temptation at some point, right? It all started when I recently went to a technology convention with work this past week and needless to say it inspired me to jump on the decade old bandwagon that I swore I wouldn’t. So with that being said, Lisa Lately  is the result of temptation and influence of others... I'm just hoping I don't crash and burn.
Those of you who know me know my style of writing is more like a random mix of ramblings accompanied by bullets and pictures. I actually enjoy writing but would like to write where I'm not solely concerned with grammar - so forgive me when I have mishaps (i.e. not so correct grammar at times).

So, what does one write about in their first blog post anyways?
...do I tell you about where I live?

Lets see, I moved away from my hometown for a few years only to move back recently. Still unsure if I plan to stay here or not... but for the time being it is satisfying.
More importantly... I am now renting an apartment with a guest  bedroom, that I am using as an office - I know that one is the kicker. This is a transition of epic proportions... I have finally entered full ADULTHOOD - or well on paper at least. More on that later.
...or maybe I should tell you all about this precious boy?

My very spoiled dog named Logos From Dixie With Love but I call him “Toddy” for short.
    • Yes, he gets his name from my alma mater
    • Yes, he wears clothes
    • No, he is NOT a whippet he is an Italian Greyhound

Although, he’s likely to be the topic of innumerable posts, so we will leave it at that for now.

...do I tell you about my hobbies?
Spare time... hobbies... What’s that? maybe this summer (oh summer, where are you?)
...or discuss my job?
Well, I’m working on my third year as a high school “Social Studies” teacher in a rural town in Mississippi. I really hate the term social studies, when you tell someone that is what you teach they automatically assume that you are a coach or don’t really teach anything. I do in fact teach - to be more specific I teach Government, Economics, Advanced Geography, and just recently added AP Government to the list.
My job consumes a large amount of my time, so I am sure that my job will also be the topic of infinite posts as well.

Alright, now that the preface / forward / prologue is complete... I’ll get straight to the goods from now on.

That's all for Lisa Lately
